Stage #2 (Year 3 & 4) Matrix
A simple Matrix for middle Primary.
Stage #3 - The zone
The Zone is all of Year 5 and 6, all day every day, together in a shared space with a team of 6 teachers. Classes are anchored to home teachers and meet together each day.
Some particular programs:
EcoWarriors (see learning blog here including timelapse video of the eco village. Critically, all 180 students could watch this develop, & contribute to its building, due to the shared space).
For this term, materials are organised by week.
Ministry of Science - in this term long integrated simulation/immersion project, students take on the role of Scientists, "leveling up", earning and spending "amoebas".
Another integrated project.
Problem, Interest, Play Project

Problem, Interest, Play Project
This is an older program which we no longer run. It's worth noting this exact program originally ran with tech, as a big poster on the wall with laminated A4 task cards available in trays. "Matrix" time was created by peeling lessons away from the English, History and Geography programs to create a pool of lessons.
|
Our new Year 7 project - note the Matrix tasks but also the linearity of the "Checkpoints".
|
In the Rhythm and Blues space - working in teams (bands) or 7 students, generally in groups of two classes at a time, students rotate through 7 stations to create and perform music.
|
In the Design Centre. Look for video instruction on demand.
|
In this course students complete 4 challenges across the year, in any order, out of a choice of 7 projects. In a typical shared classroom (pairs of two classes) students are therefore each completing different projects.
|
Beautiful graphic organisation of this course.

Year 8 quest (integrated science + Geography)
